Our content is supercharged by the Shortbread AI Comics Studio. With Shortbread Studio, creators can craft consistent and stunning characters, control their actions and emotions, and finish high-quality comic panels 10x faster than traditional drawing methods.

We’re seeking a Story Lead to join our founding team. You will work directly with Fengjiao Peng (CEO) to establish the content department, involving market research, defining series concepts, recruiting writers, giving scripting feedback, and managing series production. We are looking for a highly ambitious and qualified individual eager to help grow a nascent content platform to the #1 webcomics platform globally.

Responsibilities

• Research and formulate new series concepts.
• Recruit, test and onboard new writers, and guide them to adapt to webcomics scripting formats.
• Supervise and approve various stages of script development, including concept, outlines and scripts.
• Maintaining a working memory of every series and align artists and writers to ensure consistency.
• Ready to put in overtime and being obsessed with growing a content platform from scratch.

Qualifications

• MUST be well-versed in the content landscape of webtoons (Webtoon, Tapas), web novels (Wattpad, Goodnovel, Dreame, Radish), and/or bite-sized shows (ReelShort, FlexTV).
• Experience with serialized storytelling, including stages from initial development, outlining, scripting, storyboarding, to the final product.
• Strong visual thinker, able to visualize scripts before they are produced, and provide constructive feedback to writers and artists.
• Technically savvy, with the ability to understand and adapt to cutting-edge systems for comics creation.
• Excellent communicator with strong project management skills.

Role

This is a full-time and in-person position. You need to be in San Francisco or are open to relocating.
